Weekly Newsletter

Hello and welcome to a new and exciting year of rugby,

The junior and senior registrations are now live online for players from 5-17 in the juniors, 18’s and above, very above in some cases, as well as a 7’s competition for the under 13, 15 and 17 girls. We will also have an open women’s 7’s, and there is a possibility of boys, and men’s 7’s too. So please register your interest either at the club on Friday night or at our sign on day this Sunday afternoon from 1 pm – 5 pm so we can help the GCDRU with early planning.

We are kicking off our first official juniors training session tonight (Friday 16 Feb), followed by our senior grades playing the Sydney Irish team from 7 pm at our home grounds right after junior training. Feel free to stay around and enjoy some excellent club rugby and enjoy the atmosphere of Friday night under lights.

This year we welcome our new committee with an increased number of members. It is great to see that we have nine regular committee members on board, 7 Dolphins in Rugby members (senior welfare committee). We already have three members for our junior committee, but we ideally would like another 3 – 5 people to put their hands up to help our committed team. We meet once a month, and it only takes a few hours, but as with everything, many hands make light work. So if you love rugby as much as we do and can help out with junior rugby, please let Shane Bulford, our junior Club Captain or your coach know, that you can help out.

And finally, we are looking to host our own monthly Dolphins version of a Business Networking Referral meeting. We want to help make our club stronger by supporting each other where we can in business and commit to closer ties within our community. If you would like to register your interest in joining us, please email me at surfersparadiserugbyclub@outlook.com. Our first breakfast meeting will be in early March.
